I've seen enough

as I just "tweeted," let's just go ahead and name Stephen Strasburg the Opening Day starter right now.

Is there no way to set up a speed gun for spring training games? I guess it doesn't matter at this point. I'd just like to know.

His final pitch was quite an exclamation point.

It's early but it's a fine start. No water thrown on this fire of hope, that's for sure.

I think that the old school baseball guys will want him to at least start in the minors. They will babble about his confidence and not wanting him to lose it. Then they will send him down to AAA to face inferior competition, and artificially inflate his confidence.

He should be in the majors.

If you haven't gotten a hold of the numbers yet ...

Fastball: 96-98
Breaking ball: 80-81
Change-up: 90-91
Two-seamer: 94-95

Thanks Mark. I probably ought to stop drooling before I reply. You know more than I do - those numbers are indeed pretty impressive, right?
His last pitch about gave me a heart attack.

Fortunately, I had to leave before Tyler Walker let it get too ugly.

I was thinking about you today, Mike, knowing that Strasburg was pitching.

And I know it's two innings and all, but I can't argue with your headline. I've seen enough too.

Why not?

I've expounded on this in a more recent post, after taking proper time to reflect.
